Athletics

Athletics has a long and proud tradition at Grange Post Primary. Our students train at the state-of-the-art running track in North Sligo and have consistently represented the school with distinction at both Connacht and All-Ireland level competitions.

Lunchtime Activities

Pool

A lunchtime favourite, the pool table has become a social hub where students enjoy friendly competition and great craic.

Darts has grown into a competitive and social lunchtime activity. Students challenge each other and sometimes even the teachers.

Chess

Chess is a popular strategic pursuit, with friendly competitions running throughout the year. Students also compete against other schools, sharpening their skills in a welcoming atmosphere.

Quiet Room & Reading Space

The Quiet Room is a calm, welcoming space open at lunchtime. Students can read, study, or simply enjoy some quiet time. Managed by Transition Year students, it offers a peaceful retreat from the busy school day.

Music & Performance

Open Mic Thursdays

Once a month, students get to showcase their talents in the school foyer. Open Mic is a wonderful opportunity for students to perform, build confidence, and share their creativity with the school community.

School Choir

Students from 1st to 6th year rehearse weekly and perform at prestigious venues like the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Model Niland, and with the Celtic Tenors in Lissadell Church.

School Shows

Annual performances include Talent Shows, Variety Shows, and Musicals. This year’s highlight was the Lip Sync Battle, where students build confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

TY students form bands through workshops and perform for the school, fostering a love for music and creativity.
