Grange Post Primary School Parents Association

Supporting Our School Community

The Parents Association provides an important link between parents and guardians, the school and the wider school community. It gives parents and guardians an opportunity to work together in support of the best possible educational experience for every student.

The role of the Parents Association is set out in the Education Act 1998. The Association works closely with the Principal, staff and Board of Management to build a positive and effective partnership between home and school.

What the Parents Association Does

Supports educational research and initiatives that benefit students.
Works with the school to support parents, guardians and students.
Advises the Principal and Board of Management on relevant policy matters.
Suggests and supports extra-curricular activities.
Provides information and support for parents and guardians.
Invites speakers to address parents on topical and relevant issues.

National Parents Council

The National Parents Council provides training and support for new and existing Parents Associations.

Meeting Date and Time

The Parents Association normally meets on the first Wednesday of each month.

Meetings begin at 6.00pm in Grange Post Primary School. Where the school is closed on the first Wednesday, the meeting date may change.

The parents association supports cooperation and communication across the school community. Concerns relating to an individual member of staff, parent or guardian should be addressed through the school’s established complaints procedure rather than through the Association.
